"I am a work in progress
Dressed in the fabric of a world unfolding Offering me intricate patterns of questions Rhythms that never come clean And strengths that you still haven't seen" -Ani DiFranco, The Slant Two years ago, I fought through fear and started this blog. I managed to write four or five posts before I gave up. I started again in September of this year, but again have only written sporadically. I tend to write here only when I feel angry and desperate. I want to change that. I have always believed that we all have more in common than we don't, and that if we knew ourselves better and shared ourselves more, we would feel more connected; united; more together. I still believe that to be true. So what you will find here going forward will be stories of my past: who was I? Where did I come from? How does that inform who I am today? Stories of my present: who am I now? What are my daily struggles? What are my goals, hopes and aspirations? Where am I going, and how am I going to get there? Stories of what is going on around me: what is happening in my community; my country; the world? How do these stories affect me? By sharing myself, I hope maybe you can see a little piece of yourself somewhere in there, and that we can lift one another up; inspire one another and help each other navigate our way through this tumultuous, heinous and utterly beautiful world together. You will also find a tremendous number of Ani DiFranco quotes, as well as quotes from Nine Inch Nails, Rush, John Lennon, The Beatles and many, many more. I can't help it. They are my soul guides. Thank you for reading. Please do feel free to comment if you feel so inspired, or you can reach out to me at [email protected].
