I Am So Sick of This S***

I'll be (relatively) short, and not so sweet for my first post back. 

I'm completely sick of Donald Trump and Brett Kavanaugh and Jeff Sessions and Chuck Grassley (and rape-culture in general). I'm sick of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. I'm sick of Fox News and Late Night Talk Show Hosts. I'm sick of them all for very different reasons and to varying degrees, but suffice to say, I am sick of our daily news cycle and the shitstorm that is our current political climate. I am frustrated, and I am angry. But, I love this country, and I believe wholeheartedly in this country's potential, so I have the inability to just tune it all out and not care. 

Here are some of the topics and theories I will be exploring in my posts going forward:

• Donald Trump is not an anomaly and is the culmination of 30+ years of Republican/Conservative strategy. I don't think he was the intended representative of this strategy, and I think he came a few years earlier than they were expecting, so in fact, he is a gift; a wake-up call. While I fear for our democracy, I am also not calmed by the thought of Donald Trump's impeachment (although I do support impeachment), because I believe there are 1,000 smarter and slicker candidates waiting in the wings to do more damage. 
• By reviewing the past 25 to 30 years of history around abortion and reproductive rights, you can see how we got where we are today, politically.
• I believe there is a direct, strategic link between the anti-choice movement and the gun lobby (the NRA).
• Democrats and Liberals need to get more organized and strategic to win consistently.

There will be so much more, and it will be more personal and involve speaking to actual people around the country, and despite my clearly left-leaning politics, my aim truly is to bring as many people together as possible. I hope you enjoy what is to come. I'm excited to start sharing.
